What is the difference between polyester, pure cotton, polyester fiber, and silk?
Polyester Fiber
Polyester fiber is a modification of polyester, which improves the shortcomings of low water content, poor air permeability, poor dyeability, easy pilling and fuzzing, and easy staining of polyester. It is a fiber-forming polymer made from purified terephthalic acid (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethylene glycol (EG) through esterification or transesterification and polycondensation reaction— —Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a fiber made by spinning and post-processing. Advantages: bright luster, flashing effect, smooth, flat and elastic hand feeling; good anti-wrinkle and non-ironing, good light fastness; no obvious crease after loosening the silk surface by hand. Disadvantages: The gloss is not soft enough, the air permeability is poor, the dyeing is difficult, the melting resistance is poor, and holes are easily formed in the case of soot, sparks, etc.
Polyester
Polyester is the simplest one among the three major synthetic fibers, and the price is relatively cheap. It is a kind of chemical fiber garment fabric used in daily life. Its biggest advantage is that it has good wrinkle resistance and shape retention. Therefore, it is suitable for outdoor products such as outerwear, various bags and tents. Advantages: high strength, super elasticity close to wool; heat resistance, light resistance, good abrasion resistance and good chemical resistance; disadvantages: poor dyeability, poor melting resistance, poor moisture absorption, easy to pilling, easy to stain.
cotton
Refers to fabrics produced using cotton as raw material. Generally speaking, pure cotton fabric has better moisture absorption and heat resistance, and it is comfortable to wear. For work clothes in industries that require high moisture absorption, pure cotton fabrics can be used for processing. For example, summer school uniforms and so on. Advantages: Cotton fiber has good moisture absorption, high elasticity, heat resistance and alkali resistance, sanitation and health; Disadvantages: easy to wrinkle, easy to shrink, easy to deform, easy to stick to the hair, especially acid, when the cotton is contaminated with concentrated sulfuric acid, the cotton is burned Into a hole.
Silk floss
In a narrow sense, silk cotton refers to natural silk cotton. In a broad sense, silk floss refers to silk-like fabrics, such as hollow cotton, mixed silk floss, imitation silk floss, seven-hole cotton and the like. The silk floss comes from the floating silk on the surface of the foot cocoon and the cocoon shell. After refining and processing, the silk is dissolved and the fiber is loosened. It has good warmth retention and is often used as a filler for quilts or clothes. Silk floss has the characteristics of close-fitting softness, warm in winter and cool in summer, no irritation to the skin, good sleep promotion, antibacterial, moisture wicking and other properties.
